What will you allow God to spring up in your life?
There is a season for everything according to Ecclesiastes 3:1-8. God designed certain times in our life to birth new things. Spring is a season of fresh flowers and the awakening of sun filled day. Time to put up the snow shovel and pull out an umbrella for April showers bring May flowers. In this season, what will you allow God to spring up in you?
My brother and sister were sharing their excitement for their gardens and flowerbeds. I mean, thank God someone in the family got the green thumb because I sure didn’t. I was created to live in a condo. If I could, I’d lay down Astro turf all over LOL.
Do something new in me God
Something sparked in me as I saw their excitement about the fruits of their labor, the harvest in their season. My brother had been planning for months just so he could harvest amazing jalapeños, bell peppers and more. Just like my brother’s garden and my sister’s flowerbed, God has planted seeds and planned your life and He wants to see the fruits of His labor spring forth. I encourage you to let God’s work sprout something new and fresh in your life.
Everyday we should wake up and seek God for direction. In your daily conversation with God don’t forget to ask God to order your steps and thoughts. It’s as easy as, “Lord guide me to do you will. Do something new in me.”
There’s a season for everything!
The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 3:1 that “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” So no matter where you are in the process, nurture each step. If you are ready to blossom, then live each day in expectation of God manifestation in your life. If you feel like it’s not your time to spring forward, then take this time to prepare for Spring. Even when you don’t see anything happening in your life, God is working behind the scenes. Please don’t waste this important preparation season complaining. Learn or improve a skill. Feed your soul with encouraging words. Practice patience. Do whatever you have to do to nurture the seed within.
Creativity in Spring
Spring and Summer bring great opportunities to craft. Well, when is not a good time to craft, am I right? However, it’s something about the sun being out that jump starts everyone’s crafting creativity after the Christmas holiday lull. Check out this cute Bunny Topiary tutorial. It makes a wonderful addition to any front porch or table decoration. It took a couple hours and less than $15 to make this custom Spring decoration. Custom is always more fun.
You will Spring up in the right season
Spring is berry season. Strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, you name it, they are ripe. My Mom and I make many berry desserts so we take advantage of their season by buying them fresh and freezing them for future desserts. They are so sweet in the spring and even cheaper in the grocery store during that time. Just think about the difference between a strawberry in May and one in November. Big flavor difference. They are both strawberries, but one is more desirable, bright red, sweet, full of its yummy purpose. Which would you rather be, just ok or the best version of yourself? Can you succeed at any time, YES. Will you thrive more by waiting for God’s perfect timing, ABSOLUTELY! He created a season for everything, it’s just our job to follow His lead.
My blog journey is a good example of being in season and out of season. I started blogging years ago. I’d blog randomly about whatever was on my mind. No focus, purpose, or direction, yet I wanted it to grow. Honestly, it just wasn’t the right time in my life. Fast forward to 2018 and God gave me the time and tools to revisit blogging, just using skills he already birthed in me. It was the right season to bloom.
I want to see everyone flourish, no matter when your springtime occurs. Each and every person has an amazing purpose, so I’ll wait in expectation for your season to spring forth. I can’t wait to see and hear about what God does in your life. I’ll be the one screaming Yay…Go…You Rock!
Season for Everything
I heard this great song when I went to Ghana the first time as a missions trip. My Ghanaian brothers and sisters taught it to me and it’s been with me ever since. This song is a sincere petition to God to “do something new in my life.” Ecclesiastes 3 taught us that there is a season for everything, and as my seasons change, I pray God continues to do something new in me. I pray you are encouraged by this song.
Until next time…Stay Crafty!

You were Called to be Creative
I truly believe creativity is a gift from God. I mean He is the ultimate creator by creating you and me. We were created in His image, meaning that His creativity flows through us and we have the authority to tap into it everyday. Read more about how You Were Called To Be Creative. There is definitely space for creativity in the Kingdom. Let God spring that up in you today.
