5 Cool Craft Room Gadgets You Will Fall In Love With

I get excited when I find that perfect little crafty gadget for my craft room and when I find something cool, I’m sharing it. Here’s a list of some craft room gadgets to help you work smarter not harder. I hope you find them as helpful as I did.

First Determine What Tools You Need

Before you head to the store or online to get the craft room gadgets, It would be helpful to see what you actually need for your craft space.

I recently redid my craft room (here’s a cool craft project from my remodel). It helped me organize all the things and now I can actually find what I’m looking for. Whew!! After my organization, I was able to see the type of things I needed or wanted that I didn’t have.

For example, if you notice you don’t have much embroidery items and you find yourself not interested in embroidery often, then you might not want to purchase embroidery supplies that you may not use. In contrast, you could be on the look out for embroidery gadgets that make it easier or more fun to entice your interest.

Here’s the list of my favorite cool craft gadgets in 2022.

Surge Protector

Here’s what I call my TOWER OF POWER. I think the actual name is Power Strip Surge Protector. Tower of Power just sounds cooler right?

You can plug in 10 things at once. It also has 4 USB plug in slots. The tower has lots of features, including on and off power switch per level and an extension cord so you can move it around the room.

Weeding Scrap Collector

The iVyne Berry Vinyl Weeding Collector, is a cute little lifesaver when weeding vinyl. If you don’t know what vinyl is or why you have to weed it, no problem. Head over to my blog about how to use a die cutting machine.

When weeding vinyl you get little bits of scrap vinyl everywhere. It’s hard to clean up and they stick to everything. The little scrap collector serves as a catch all and is made specifically made to work with your weeding tool. It’s so convenient.

Cordless Glue Gun

A glue gun is the #1 thing I think all crafters need. There are several different types of glue guns:

• Hot temp
• Cool temp
• Multi temp or all temp
• Mini size glue
• Full size glue
• Precision tip
• Etc.

I’m recommending a Cordless Glue Gun for all crafters. Once you charge the glue gun, you can take it everywhere you need to use it. Have you ever been doing a project across the room or outside where there is a plug close? I know I have. That’s the beauty of the cordless glue gun. It’s there where you need it. Check the length of the charge. Cordless glue guns run from 15-45 minutes of charge.

Sewing Gadgets

Self-Healing Cutting Mat

A Self healing cutting mat is just a no brainer if you do a lot of sewing or cutting. It makes measuring and cutting so much easier. The greatest part is the “self-healing” feature. You can use the mat over and over again without it showing cuts, so much better than a hard surface.

Acrylic Ruler

An acrylic ruler works perfectly with the self healing cutting mat. You can lay your fabric or paper under the ruler and it’s heavy enough to hold it in place while you measure. I love that it gives a nice straight edge to cut against.

Rotary Cutter

The Rotary Cutter is the last piece to this sewing gadget trifecta. Honestly, I don’t know why I didn’t get a rotary blade earlier in life. IT IS SO MUCH EASIER to cut. I’ve cut paper, foam board, thin plastic and of course fabric with this cutter. It’s worth it. My only suggestion is to get a replacement blade when you purchase the rotary cutter because it dull quickly.
